Reverse lights- bulbs & fuses
Hi All,
Went for an annual inspection today and it failed- Reverse lights on both sides were not activating when the truck was in reverse.
Checked bulbs- they were fine.
Checked fuse- it was fine, though I found it was a 10amp fuse in a slot rated for a 15amp, so I replaced it w/ a 15amp fuse.
The reverse lights still don't work!
Anything else I can try before I bring it into be fixed?
...I'm starting to worry it is going to have something to do w/ the wiring, which makes me think it could be a costly repair[:'(]...
I appreciate everyone's insight

unless it passed a resistance test replace the fuse anyway. sometimes they blow close to the blade and its hard to tell just by looking at it. then i would go back to the rear of the truck and check the wiring harness near the lights, its possible some hillbilly spliced the harness to make the trailer lights work. if none of that helps bust out the multimeter and the manual, i think there might be a fuseable link along that circuit that may have blown
I had the same problem on my old Toyota P/U a while back. It ended up being the reverse light sender on the trany. If Dodge uses the ame etup then that connection when bad or come off. Might want to look into that.
