I've never really done anything with sound systems nor do I know anything about them. Whats a good quality one with a lot of bass? And were would you go about putting the speakers and all that and how much would this cost me?

You have a SC Truck Correct?

If so and you want subs you have to go with 10's behind the seat. Its what i have in mine. I have 2x 10" Apline Type E Subs with a 400wat 400rms at 2omhs, with most amps you get a 4 ohm load depending on the wireing to the subs, get a mono amp and have them come out in a parallel connection, and you will get a 2 ohm load. Less reistance better sound.

Now for the speakers in the doors you can go with simple 6 1/2s in the front, and 5 1/4 in the rear and eaither get a sep amp for those or run them off a built in amp in your head unit.

Head Unit = Car Deck most of the new ones have built in amps ranging from 18rms-33rms, I know alpine is about 18-22rms and should be fine to run some fosgate speakers.. or you can get a 4 channel and run about 40-60rms to each speaker, one amp under each seat, but you will need a cap and you will be spending alot more money.

Easy way::: less expensive way.
Head Unit
4x Speakers running off head unit
1x mono alpine v power amp under seat (smallest amp that will fit and still power the subs)
2x Type E Subs
2x Q-logic Truck boxes
1x 500wat Amp Kit.

your looking at about i would say.... ~800-900 that way.


Harder way and more expensive way:::
Head Unit
4x Speakers
1x 4channel v power apline amp (same size as the mono v power)
1x mono v power apline amp (small and will fit easy under seats)
2x Type E Subs
2x Sub Boxes
1x 1farad Capacitor
1x 1000wat duel amp kit

looking at around... ~1200-1300 that way.

Alpine is a good brand i have it in mine and it sounds really good in a single cab truck, better then some duel 12's in some peoples cars.

There is so many brands and options to go with its really up to you, but i recommend Alpine. I love there amps, there SMALL and deal tons of power that you need. I hate those amps about the size of a surfboard.

Well thats a little more then I'm willing to spend.......and yeah its a single cab..is their anything that isent that expensive but still sounds good?

however you may not need to replace the speakers in your doors etc... if they still sound good and i dont know what you have for a radio/cdplayer/tapeplayer w/e you have bare minimum to make it have bass though would be

*10 inch subs work very well with a reg cab thats what mine is* *secret for more leg room* *make your box so the magnets stick through the back of the box and are flush with the surface of the wood so you get the thinest box possible just make sure you silicone all your cracks*

 

one, apline head unit. two, mb quart speakers. three, jl subs... if you have a single cab one 12" jlw3 would be plenty. don't amp your factory speakers, it'll sound like crap. you can get away, without replacing your door speakers, for a set up of just about 600. CDA-9856 for the head, jl12w3v2 for the sub and jl 250/1 for the amp. that set up will be loud in a single cab. trust me. stereos are what i do.

 

you can go with fosgate p1's

2x P1's go for about 100
get a mono 300wat amp for about 72 bucks,
get wireing 70 bucks
boxes 50 bucks each

340 for subs

120-200 for car deck (anything that goes for 120 or lower useally is a pos without sub control or eqs.)

speakers 4 speakers for 90 bucks

total= ~700

If you dont need speakers... and dont want a deck get a LOC and run the amp with the stock deck

cost you 400 bucks to do it that way

Or if you even want to go cheaper...

Go to best buy... but the 24.99 subs i think they are like 10" Duels (namsung)

build your own boxes from home depot wood = 50 bucks for everything.

42 dollor amp..

go to a pawn shop and look for a amp kit called BOSS 20 bucks for it.

Total= 160.... lol.. but it isnt going to sound as good as the type e's

I work at Best Buy in the Install Bay and Audio Section. I deal with this **** everyday. You have so many options, its crazy, if you dont want to spend alot of money. Just go with one 10 and set it up. Saves you about 200 bucks or so.

Hell if you want i can buy you some **** and have it shipped to you. I get about 40-60% off car audio ****, amps its about 15-30% everything else 40-60%

 

what sounds good to you?
if you listen to rap, you'll want a different sound than rock
to run cheap,

a head unit,
replace your factory speakers,
sub box behind the seat or in the console

cheapest way period, and you still get good quality
you really can't just buy a system all together
