Default 4.7 Wont Start....Need Help.

My 2000 Dakota wont start and Im trying to figure why before it heads out to the shop $$$$.
I just had a friend install a fuel pump and it ran fine for about a month. Now its in the yard and wont start. It turns over, but thats it. I can hear the pump turn on with the key, but when I checked the check valve in the engine compartment, no fuel shot from the valve. Lastly, I switched the fuel relay with one of the others in the box, still no start. I would check the spark but I dont really know how, and the fact no fuel was in the check valve has me thinking its fuel issues.

Any advice. As you can probably tell, Im not much of a mechanic.

i would bet that the part that sits in the tank either fell off or there is some junk clogging the system. drop the tank and figure if the hoses fell off.

Spark plugs?? If you want to test spark pull out the plug wire and keep the spark plug attached while grounding it on the block. Have somone check it while you turn it over, Just dont hold the plug wire

Well, if you do hold the wire, you will certainly know if you are getting spark!

in a no start situation start with the basics. motors need 3 things to run. air fuel and spark. make sure your getting all three into the combustion chamber and go from there.
