Default Opinions and Feedback Please

I have an '03 Dak with a 4.7L V-8. Ext Cab, Sport Trim, 4X2. Except for the Line-X bed liner, it's bone stock. I want to do some light to medium performance mods to it over the next year. I would like to know what mods you would make if this was YOUR truck. It's my only vehicle, so needless to say it's a daily driver. I have a moderate amount of money to spend and would like to do as much of the work as possible myself.

Let the suggestions fly!

TIA

manifold back exhaust, limited slip w/better gearing, 2wd I'd probably drop/level out, grippy tires and whatever suspension issues need to be worked out to make it hook. intake, programmer, etc.

Sounds to me like you and i are in the same boat. Broke and hungry for more power. I would start out by upgrading the intake and the exhaust first. The more air you have coming in and the better it flows the more power your going to have. From what i've read here so far K&N is the way to go. As far as an exhaust kit goes, anything but stock is better. Flowmaster would probably be your best bet. if your on a really tight budget you might consider a glasspack exhaust. i'm not sure if its as efficient as the flowmaster, but hey its power. You might also try a programmer or a mild stage performance chip.

I've got the same engine in my '00 X-cab SLT. Only things I have done are a K&N air filter and a Magnaflow cat-back exhaust w/ dual outs. Sounds/performs awesome! I'm happy with it, for now.
