Dealership warning
When I first bought my truck I did not have room in my garage to do work, so I used the local dealership for a few things.
1. retracted, but other issues still stand.
2. shiftkit install
3. overall inspection
I guess my issues after staring at it for an hour is not tie rod misplacment, but the guy before me put wheels from a 2000+ dakota on this 99. The stock 99 wheels are 7" wide while the 2000+ are 8". So that extra inch is causing the inside of the wheel to rub against the tierod end. Thats just super.
Tranny doesn't know which gear to shift to if you gun it then let off before 3rd shift. It basically will shift back and forth a few times then shift into next gear. Took it too them and they wanted to charge me for an adjustment even though they did the original work which never worked. I had to argue for 45 minutes before they did the adjustment without charging me.
I have found multiple issues since working on it (blown shocks, rear shoes were gone to metal, a couple leaks)
So basically if you live in Escondido by chance, don't go to Jack Powell Dodge service department. I think they have 1 person that knows what he is doing and he is only aservice writer. I have bought a few trucks from them in the past and have gotten good deals, but service......[:'(]
