Default Hurst Comp/Plus shifter?

I've got a question that may have been answered at one time or another but i'm new, so here goes. Hurst makes a shifter for V8 Dakotas from 97-00, but i've got a 01 4.7 backed with the NV3500 tranny (same as earlier models). My question is, why will it not work on my 01? I know the interior styling changed in 01 (which is probably irrelevant), and I have the ****, not the floor mounted lever, transfer case. Other than that, not a whole hell of a lot changed from 00 to 01 (to my knowledge). I emailed Hurst on the subject but have not yet gotten a reply. Has anyone tried the shifter anyway, or has any answers? Thanks!

Default RE: Hurst Comp/Plus shifter?

since they changed the interior in 01, the mounting/levers have changed.
