Hey guys I'm new here. I just bought my first Dodge that I've ever had yesterday. Its a 2001 Dakota sport 4x4 quad cab v8. So far I like it. Anyway I was wondering what is the biggest tire size that will fit on my truck? I've read that you can fit a 32x11.5x15 on a stock Durango so I imagine it would be about the same. Also if any of you guys have any pictures of larger tires on the truck I'd like to see, or pictures of good tire/wheel combo's on stock suspension.

 

Yep. 32s will fit on a stock suspension with the stock wheels. With aftermarket wheels if the backspacing is different they may rub. 33s require a lift.

 

Does anybody have any pictures of 32's on their stock truck? I thought about some 275 or 285 bfgoodrich AT's. Which one looks better?

 

32's will fit on stock wheels with no problems. Tried it once, but didn't stay with them as the tire shop only had 2 in-stock and would have taken a couple days to get more in. That said, since your truck is an '01 you should have 16" wheels, which makes sizing different. Best option, find a good reputable tire shop and talk them about doing some test fitting of tires. Go in on a slow day and pick and choose, word of caution, when test fitting on the front, put the test tires on both sides and then put the truck on the ground with the suspension loaded, turn wheels lock to lock and look for rubbing. I did this with the 32's I tried on mine (15") wheels and found no contact issues.

 

01's came with the 15" tire aas well... I think the 16 was part of another package, as I have an 01 dakota 4x4, club cab, 3.9L and 15" tires

 

Maybe was in '02 when they made the switch over. My dad has a '00 and a '02, the '02 came factory with 16's.

 

My 01 Sport 4x4 came with 16s.

 

My 01 Sport quad cab has 265's on 16 inch rims. I checked the specs for BFGoodrich AT's and the 275's are like 31.5 inches and the 285's are 32.4. Do you guys think the 285's would fit? Anybody with pictures?

 

I would imagine 32.4 inch tires would rub at stock height. More importantly, how wide are the tires?
