Default A/C removal/installation

Did anyonereplaceit themselves and is it hard? I just got the truck from a used car dealer and we didnt check the a/c which was stupid of us. It's a 99 318 slt.

I forgot to say the air compressor. Thats what needs to be replaced. Did anybody replace one themselves?

removing the whole compressor is pretty simple. just make sure all of the freon is drained out of it first.

what make you think its the compressor? it could just be low on freon.

The thing that cycles the compressor that the surpentine belt grabs on to. It doesnt spin.

The compressor clutch.
I would first determine if its actually getting power.. or else your gonna make a several hundred dollar mistake.
