Default heater warm up

I have a 2000 quad cab 4.7, my question is about the heater. I've noticed now that it has been cold the heater takes quite a long time to get warm. About 15-20 min. The outside temp. in the mornings is about 35 degrees. Any help?

But once it warms up, it blows hot air right?
If so, I would make sure the thermostat is working properly. If its stuck open, warm up times will increase a lot.
It also takes longer for it to warm up at idle than with the engine running as if you were driving it.

It doesn't blow hot, just warm. By the way I replaced the stock one about two years ago with a 180 degree one.

You might try flushing your heater core.

Yeah something is wrong when it is 35-40F here I can start my truck in the morning and in 3-5 minutes I am getting hot air and in 10 minutes it is heating me out of the cab I have to turn down the blower from HI to Med/Low and turn the heat control down from HI to Med. or it over heats the cab and I am in a QuadCab.
