I asked my wife for a new muffler for my Dakota and she ended up getting me a Borla, the universal muffler, has anyone else used these mufflers on their trucks??? I'd like to know how they sound. I'm also putting in a new magnaflow high flow catalytic converter and probably a 3.5 inch tip.

 

I know they sound good on a V8 but I dont know how it would sound on a V6 though.

 

I had a borla cat back system on my old Fiero GT V6 and it sounded very nice. I did also have headers, but over all I was impressed.

 

I have the headers and the cat-back on my Dakota. Love the way it sounds. Not to loud not to quiet. Oh... and my wife loves the way it sounds.

 

well I was looking at just going in an buying the whole cat back system but they only seem to have it for the 4.7 and 5.2. Would the exhaust size be the same for the 3.9, I mean would it fit??

 

if not its not like you cant just go buy a size adaptor for 10 bucks at any automotive store

 

actually the size is the same, just worried about the tail pipe being shaped the same. Talked to a local muffler shop, he'll charge me about 50 to modify it and put it in for me.
