Well, I suppose I am sort of stuck with these plugs since I am going to be back up at school in a day or two and I dont have anywhere to work on the truck. Also, its somewhere around 0 degrees out up north so that makes it even tougher. Good to know that the Bosch are most likely the problem...wish I wouldnt have done this now.

ORIGINAL: 01dodgedriver

get rid of bosch plugs they work like **** in crysler/dodge get campions. Bosch are Crap no matter what vehicle you put them in.
The work great in in old VW bugs, I only used bosch.

stay away from platinum plugs as a rule of thumb, buy stock plugs for normal engines, if your using n20 or any type of forced induction go a few stages colder.

Rapid Fires worked great (very smooth idle)in my 5.2 but am using Autolites now because they are cheaper and more available plus supposed to be the optimum plug per the gear heads

Sorry to bring up my old post, but I need some more advice. After switching plugs i definitely noticed a loss in mpg, from about 17 to around 15 mpg on my first tank. I then took a trip back up to school, and i got around 12.5 going 70 the whole way. On this last tank of gas, I have gotten 65 miles to half of a tank....and i feel like the engine may be bogging down. Did i burn the new plugs already? Is it the napa wires? Am i misfiring...as in did i put them in incorrectly? Or could it be my o2 sensor? I am a college student and dont have a lot of money to bring it into someplace for them to charge me 100 bucks just to look at it, plus whatever the want to charge to try to fix it. Any suggestions would be great. Please respond soon. See original post above for more information.

I get 70 miles to half a tank, its just bad fuel economy, dodge has always been like that.

I understand that its a truck and yes, I am going to get bad MPG, however I thought that by changing plugs and wires MPG would stay the same or perhaps drop/raise slightly (1 -2mpg). Anyone else have any suggestions? I would average about 15mpg previous to switching plugs and wires, and now after a tank or two it seems like it is decreasing pretty rapidly.

I get on aveage 240-250 miles per tank. Just did my NGK V-power plugs Napa pro wires, cap, and rotor. The cap and rotor were shot, and it wasnt that bad to change them out.

thats what i used to get before i switched out my plugs and wires...240-260 a tank...didnt get to the cap and rotor because i didnt have my chiltons, and couldnt figure out an easy way to get them out(its behind the motor and a small area...perhaps if i had the correct tools it would have been easier.

There is defninitely a drop in mpg since the plugs and wires...what could be causing this?

all you need is a small phillips screwdriver and a strong hand to pull the plugs
