Default Rear diff removal troubles.

Hey i'm new i just registered about 5 minutes ago. I am having troubles gettng the rear diff to come out of my Dakota's axle. As my sig says its a 2000 Dakota SLT 4x4 4.7L I have the 9.25 rear end with LSD, I removed the inner axles and now cannot get the diff to come. I took the yoke off the pinion so its free, the caps are off the differential bearings. I gutted the diff just because i wanted to see in there as to what may be holding it. no such luck. It will move about .5"-1" in and out of place then makes a noise like something catches. Am I going to need a diff spreader? If so I don't have one and I'm screwed for the night. [:@]. Any and all quick info will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

diff spreaders are for pussies.

my buddy has a 9.25 in his 73 and I don't remember him having any problems pulling it in/out, but I could be a bit foggy.

i got it figured out. had a momentary loss of brain function. I did not back off the bearing adjusters so the diff was hung up on those. thanks guys!
