As far as wire replacement intervals, check your owner's manual. I would replace the wires if you are replacing the plugs, along with the rotor and distributor cap. Anything over 8mm is overkill for a stock ingintion setup. It is not a lot of work as long as you take your time and label everything (if this is your first time). I even find myself mixing up wires from time to time if I wasn't paying attention when I pulled them off.

You can just do the plugs if money is tight, however, if another part of your ignition system (i.e. wires, cap, rotor) is an issue, it will go unresolved. You should be fine, but for future reference, changing them all at the same time is always a good idea.

thanks maybe ill take the time to do all of it when the weather warms up as it has been hovering around 0* F here for the past couple of weeks and i dont feel like freezing and donte get to use the garage(the parents are very clear on that) so once it warms up ill do the wires, cap and rotor but the plugs im going to do now as that seems to be most important that would be fine correct?

Make sure that you get the correct gapping on the plugs.
