Default Check Gauges?

Today, I was driving and all was well, then I put it into park in front of my house and it told me to check gauges and the gauge said 0 for oil pressure but the engine still started etc....Not sure if it is just censor or oil pump, but no check engine light has come on or anything...

Chris
ps I have a 97 dodge dakota ext. 4x4 v6

I would say if your engine is still running, then you have oil pressure

but the only way I know of for checking if you have oil pressure is to take off your valve cover, then start the truck. but there might be an easier way. and if your engine isnt making any noises, then your probly getting oil. it probly could just be your sensor.

also have you checked your oil
