to ratings are in the manual, its also what your hitch and reciever can handle, but miracles happen, sport has a better clearance from the ground basically, i dont know if the suspension being beefier is common with the sports but i have factory H.D. suspension

Hey how much or where can I find out the tow rateing of my Dakota? 2000 4x4 4.7 auto 3.55's. Thanks
All the ratings, towing, and wieghtlimits are in the owners manual. I think we have the same truck but I am out on a trip right now and can not look up any info for you. Maybe someone else can help. Also if your's came with the factory tow pack, there aresome numbers on a sticker on the hitch as well.

If all else fails the dealer can help. They've been great with me so far.

Matt

hehehe. Not missing lug nuts just the chrome caps on the crappy stock units. These will be replaced on the next rotation.

I have a 97 5.2 liter dakota and i hauled a pallet of 80lb concrete, thats about 3800 lbs in the back of the truck, and it hauled just fine. was a pain to unload all 48 bags but such is life. It also had about a two to three inch drop but I expected that.. But to anser the question do you have the two package installed???? if so it should be stamped on the tongue where the reciveng hitch goes in.

That's over twice your payload limit. I'm not saying I haven't done it in my Ram before, but it's really not good for your truck. My ram's at least got full float axles, light duty trucks don't fare as well.

And the tow ratings on the hitch aren't capacities for the truck generally, only for the hitch.

Holy *, 3800lbs and only a 2 or 3 inch drop?/!/.Are you sure?

How was the weight distributed over the bed of the truck? Were all 48 bags of concrete on one pallet or were the 48 bags removed from the pallet and evenly distributed over the entire bed?

Did you have helper springs?
