Default Poor wet weather start 01 Dakota

I have a 2001 Dakota 3.9l V6 which will not start following a major wet
weather bout or even a heavy duty car wash. Any ideas on how to make
the vehicle start well again during wet weather? Perhaps seals around the
hood? The vehicle has 100k miles on it and other than that it runs like brand
new. Any info or past information on this would be helpful. Need the vehicle
to be reliable during wet weather again.

Are you sure that the weather is the factor? Perhaps coincidence that it is only happening during those conditions? What are the symptoms? Do you get power inside? Does it try to turn over? Try covering your distributor cap.

ya, +1 on the distributor cap. I would look at it and it probly needs replacing. mine used to do that when I went through big puddles

Yes! that can be a big factor. my parents had a k-car that would not start until you dried off the distributor

if you havent done a tune up in a while its probaly cap or plug wires. heres a trick... when its dry out and the trucks running fine, take a spray bottle with water and spray the plug wires and around the cap, im sure youll see arcs jumping all over and the engine will stumble. then you know its time for a tune up.
