question on power steering pump pulley?

Default question on power steering pump pulley?

ok my first project in the next week or so is the rack and pinion and power steering pump, now does the pwer steering pump have a bearing in it that could go wrong and make noise? i see the pulley is only $20 to $30 . so whats your opinion on the pulley?

Why are you replacing the power steering pump? Is is not working correctly? What was the original problem?

well my rack and pinion has been leaking for some time and i acidently ran the pump dry and ever since that steering has ben real tuff when turning into parking spots, its like power steering shuts off but if i put it neutral and rev the engine its fine

It might not be your pump. If your rack is leaking, then you are losing pressure in the rack itself. Just make sure you keep fluid in it until you replace the rack. Then see if the pump has been affected. This might save you some coin.
