You know,

really only mods that have a before and after dyno, showing a gain on at least two of the same motors that you have, is really worth looking at.

It amazes me how many people will dump 3-400 dollars, for a 'cat back', change the sound, and THINK they they got any objective gains.

As a public service
the same guys who started the MegaSquirt DIY fuel injection project
have created this
"on the road dyno"
Java application
that allows people to quickly and cheaply
test modifications in more 'real world' conditions
than even rear wheel chassis dynos that cost money.

http://www.bgsoflex.com/dyno.html

The above horsepower and torque estimator
becomes even more sensitive and dependable
if two trucks...one modified and one truck not modified...
are run at the same time to cancel out
wind, temperature, weather air pressure, and road condition.

The highway dyno test becomes
even MORE sensitive and dependable
if the mod is then swapped over to the other truck
and the test repeated.
If the mod shows gains on both trucks,
and running without the mod causes loses on both trucks,
you can be 95% certain that the mod really works.

Similar two truck testing
can give you reliable MPG modification information.
