Default Help needed ASAP! Temp. Sensor location!!!

Hey, I need to know the location of the temp sender and the temp sensor on a 2002 V-6. The guage will go from normal and all the way to red hot in about 1 second. It goes back and forth and kinda acts like a thermostat problem but the motor is perfectly cool. I had it towed last night thinking it might be messed up. Turned the key on and the gauge was almost all the way cool, turned the key off and on again and it was pinned at red.... My guess is temp sender but I cant find it or the sensor.... Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Tom
