was just wondering if you could put the 5.9 or 4.7 rear end gears in a 4wd truck, i mean i dont ever use it for towing just tracion in the winter. probably a stupid question but was just wondering.

 

As long as its the same size axle, I dont see why not.. but if your putting in a different gear ratio then you have in the front, your going to have problems. If its the same gear ratio, then yeah, but im not sure why you'd want to do that. If your swapping out for different gears, you have to do the front too (in a 4wd truck)

 

What do you mean the 5.9 or 4.7 gears? Either one came with 3.55s or 3.92s, open or limited slip.
