does anybody know if just putting a blind spot mirror over the crack would work to hold it together, and i know if it covers the crack, then i dont need a new glass, so that would make life easier, anybody think that this would, work, one of my dads ideas to save me some hassel and $$$

where is the crack in it? is it near the side? but I think if you put a screw driver behind the glass it should just pop out. I know it does that for other cars. never had one off my dak.

yea the crack is in the lower right hand corner, almost exactly where i would have put a blind spot mirror on it anyway so i think im going to do that just to save on hassel, but i probably would have just busted it off w/ a screwdriver if i had needed to anyway

On my '99 R/T, the drivers mippor cracked from top to bottom in the middle of the mirror. Wasn't too noticeable, so I didn't fix it. On my wife's 2000 R/T, both outside mirrors are cracked in the same place as mine was. Think water/snow gets behind the glass and freezes. When you adjust the mirror, they crack.

called the auto store, they wanted $15.89 for the part, and said that i could just put it over the broken one, but i didnt have time to get down there today, so i just covered it up with a blindspot mirror, hardly noticable if you didnt know what had happened, and that the dent was there, so i think that it worked, and it covers the blind spot good too, which is nice as it is also functional

well the crack was bigger under where the blind spot mirror is located, just big enough to distort the view and start to flake off in small pieces enough that i felt better just covering it up than taking a chance on inspection, but thats me
