Default making the new hood functional...

any ideas? i think user you got one of these dont ya? any ideas on how to open up the 'nostrils' on this thing? not so much for performance cuz its not like i have the functional ram air box but i would like to make this thing look a little better. thanks.

Reinforced cutting wheel and a dremel tool... would be my choice, dremel it out, so that about 1/4 inch remains, then slowly sand the remains til it's flush...

That's exactly how I would do it.

yeah i too would do what frenchy mentioned... just make sure you make the nostrils even, or else you will just look like a tool

whats it look like underneith? might be easier to work it from there
just use frenchys method

Make sure you fit it properly, that can be a pain sometimes.

UPDATE:
got the filter on:

and got the inserts in from clint:

i'll get the ball rolling in the next two weeks sometime, i still need to figure out how i'm going to mount the hood itself as i have heard the stock hood springs are a no-no for fiberglass hoods as they exert too much force for a light hood.

yes. You have to get special "weak" AKA fiberglass springs. Or install a prop rod.

ok the only problem you will have with the stock springs is that they will force the hood to slightly bow in the middle down the sides,

there is a way to weaken the springs so that they dont do this...imma go figure it out for ya...
