2007 Limited, 20" Factory Wheel Problem????
My new 2007 Dodge Durango Limited came with Factory 20" wheels. The front end seems to sway excessively and if at speeds over 50 mph, if I quickly steer left and then right, the front tires actually contact and rub the wheel wells. When this occures, the contact "breaks" the wheel creating an extremely dangerous situation. Also, I tow a 28' snowmobile trailer and with the full weight of the trailer and load (under 6,000 lbs.), the car is almost dangerous to drive as the front body sway and roll is too much. It is now at the dealer for the 3rd time and they don't seem to know what the problem is. I love the truck, but the body roll and sway is just not normal. Does anyone know anything about this problem.

Check the suspension. The wheels shouldn't make contact, there is plenty of clearance in the wells. You should be using a WD hitch and sway bar set up for the trailer. 28ft is a long trailer for the Durango and if is not balanced properly itwill toss the truck around. I have a 05 and tow a 32 ft travel trailer. I tried it without the WD and sway, it was scarry over 40mph. Once I installed the WD and sway it was great. Total weight is around 6000 wet.
It's an '07. Stop posting here and simply take it back to the dealer. Of course that isn't right. No one sells a new vehicle that has tires that rub. Something is amiss.

Indy,
From his post, he said he has taken to the dealer 3 times now and they have been unable to find anything wrong.
I do agree that something is wrong though. Try taking to a differant dealer, check tire inflation (I'm sure you have, just tossing out there just in case), and do get a sway bar for towing.
