Default 04 V6 SLT 2WD Tranny issue or what????

I have an SLT V6 2WD. When it gets to (mainly) 4th gear and if you are cruising along relatively slowly, and then you want to just give it just a bare minimum of acceleration on the pedal (also duplicated when you start on an incline up), and not trying to kick it back to 3rd gear, the D seems to act like it doesn't accept the slight acceleration effort. I liken it to shifting too low in a manual shift car at too low a speed, you know, then the eginge kind of misses and it gets sluggish. I'm thinking that the D should handle the slight pedal input and not go sluggish like this. Generally the only way to overcome it is to simply apply more pressure on the pedal to drop it a gear.

Anyone else have this issue with a V6 unit? I took it to the dealer and they said nothing came up on the computer when they plugged it up and they said the transmission is all "computer" controlled. Could it be something mechanical? Something in the throttle??? I know it's hard to describe, but I'm also wondering if this is causing below average gas mileage as I'm only getting around 13-14 in city with the V6 whereas the sticker said 16.

Any input or thoughts/suggestions on what could be the problem would be greatly appreciated...what do you suggest I tell the dealer????

I can't believe that this is acceptable performance even if it is the "lowly" V6!

Thanks!

could be something with the drive by wire throttle.. i hate the damn thing. it ignores little or quick inputs.try to re calibrate the throttle.there are threads on the subject. basicly you turn the key to on without starting .wait till all the bells stop then in on smoth motion press the pedel to the floor. you will hear a ding to indicate it is done. you can try this a few times then drive it to see if it helps each time you try vary the speed that you press the pedel down.

I have read that this throttle calibration only works on the Hemi. I went by the dealer today and am going to drop it off on Monday, while they provide me a rental. Service manager said he would get a tech on it, then perhaps also drive another SLT V6 to see if "acts" the same way. I can't believe this would be the norm performance on a $22-$23k vehicle! In driving it today, at about 50mph, and the RPM's around 1,500, just barely pressing the pedal to get it moving gradually faster, it starts to "sputter", but if I force it to downshift by mashing more, it of course goes away. I am tempted to demand they take it back and let me get something else (perhaps a Magnum) if this is "normal". Doubt that will happen...hmmm...need to check into the TN Lemon Law!
