new here and have a couple questions. i am looking to buy a gen 2 durango. i have two in particular that i am looking at. one has a build date of late 2004 ( i am assuming 2005 model year). he reports that it has the MDS engine but i thought this was only available in the 2006 model year and above. also says the warranty will transfer but my understanding is that it will only transfer from the original owner to the second owner and then is essentially dead. am i correct. i would like to use the points to get the price down as i will have to get an aftermarket warranty.

also any car dealers on here that can anwser one more question for me. is it possible to get the 0%@72 as a cosigner on the loan. i had some bad luck financially over the past two years and i had a rental home that i owned foreclosed. i have a cosigner with impecable credit who would qualify hands down for the 0% but not sure how to transfer that to me if we decide to get a new durango or aspen instead of used. i have well over 30% to put as a downpayment

You are correct that the MDS system debuted ( for the Durango) in 05 on the then new 06 models. Also, it was only offered on the 5.7 Hemi and not the 4.7.
Warranty wise, both 04 and 05 had the bumper to bumper 3/36 as well as the 7/70 powertrain. The 7/70 is only good for the 1st and 2nd owners as you said. The xfer fee is $150 and should be paid within 30 days of purchase.

If the D you are looking at was built in May or later of the given year, it is most likely the next model year. If it is April or older it would be the past year.
