2006 Durango HEmi Cruise Control and horn quit working! HELP
I just bought a used 2006 Dodge Durango with 6000 miles on it. It is a salvage title vehicle, which explains why I am on here asking questions instead of going to the dealer for warranty. I did NOT get a manual with my vehicle, so I have no clue as to where the fuses are to the horn or the cruise control. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have checked the panel on the pass side floor to make sure all the wires are grounded and nothing touching. I have some fuses that are showing no power, but I am not sure if they are just extras or not since I dont have manual. The only thing that could be the problem is when I took apart the dash and the steering wheel, I notice a sending unit box, that is supposed to be mounted by the ignition and just behind was broken off, its a Daimler Chrysler Part made by Lear, these are the numbers on it
TGHCH016602549
DCX P/N 56038676AT
also has a lear part number and a IC #
When I purchased the vehicle they had to put a new ignition in it since the other one was broken out,
There seems to be some really smart people on here, so I hope someone can help me. Also I would love to get a manual for this vehicle, 2006 Dodge Durango SLT 5.7 HEMI Any suggestions would be helpful also.
Thank you!

Also wanted to say the the horn works with the Remote Key, but doesnt work when you push the steering wheel. I know it is electrical somewhere.....
I am not a mechanic so I can't tell you were the fuse is located but you can go to dodge.com and download an owners manual free of charge. The link is in the the for owners section of the website. Good luck with your problem.

Sounds like you may have a damaged clock spring which would show the exact symptoms you are having. On such a young vehicle,I expect it was damaged in the crash as opposed to bad or defective. Not a real expensive part, or hard to install. It does require removing the steering wheel and also the airbag if you are comfortable with that.

Thanks Don. I will check into that. Would that make the steering wheel have a ticking sound when turning it??

I just wanted to thank you.. It was the clock spring.. It cost 110.00 plus labor at 56.00 to get it fixed, but it is worth it.
Thank you for your help..

Glad to hear the issue is resolved. These messageboards are great for just this reason. Most of the folks here just love their cars, and enjoy "talking shop" with other car folk while saving some coin now and then.
Nice to make your aquaintance.Don

sometimes no horn means it needs a ground wire from the steering colum to ground. heppened to me on a 84 ply fury, it was in the service manual.
