27 Gallon Fuel Tank???
I am nearing 4,000 miles on my new 07' Durango SLT Hemi... and I am still baffled by the mpg I am getting.
Basically my fuel light comes on and the needle on the fule gauge is resting on the 'E'. So I go to fill up and the tank is full when the pump reads 22.5 gallons. I am able to squeeze it up to 23 gallons when it starts to splash out the top. So do I really have 4 gallons left with it on E and the fuel light on ??!!
Anyone else had this experience? I don't have the overhead information cluster like I did on my 04 Ram so I don't know how many miles are left when the light comes on. Please advise.

I do not know the specs for thelatest gen, but for first gen Dodges the low fuel indicator is spec'd to turn on at 12.5% of tank capacity, or 1/8 of a tank. Assuming that thelatest genspec is the same (don't know for sure), then that means it should turn on with 3.38 gallons remaining (27 x 12.5%). Sounds like you are fairly close to that.
I have done 75 miles on my Gen1 D when the overhead computer said ZERO miles until empty and the guage was on/below E. I was very nervous the whole way.
On my 35 gal tank, a typical, absolutly full fill up is 23.5 gals. Only once in 7 years was it into the 24.5 gal area on the 25 gal tank (the above explanation)
Keep in mind, the fuel pump is on the tank and it is liquid cooled. Thus, not really a great idea to always run the tank to E and below. Premature pump and filter issues will certainly arise.
