Torque Converter relating to RPMs rise and fall?
I read on a previous post the following:
"I believe that last rpm drop will be your torque convertor clutch locking up. You will notice a small delay for this especially when the temp is cold out. The computer will not allow the TCC to lock up till a certain trans temp is reached and of course when the rpms are a little higher the engine/trans heats up a little quicker.
I would keep an eye on it, but I think you'll find out it is operating properly. "
My question is...would this explain the fluctuation in Rpms that I am seeing now? I am really trying to find out why this started occurring right after I had my magnaflow exhaust installed.
When I set the cruise at 70 it is a 1900 and jumps to 2100 for a bit... then back down to 1900... then jumps to 2100... then back down to 1900... finally it starts to level out and stay at 1900 or so.... but still it seems like it will jump back to 2100 from time to time.
PLEASE ANY IDEAS out there on what I am seeing and if this may be caused by switching to the magnaflow exhaust? I don't recall experiecing this with my factory exhaust.
TIA!
