Default 2007 Durango Mileage

What kinda mileage does every body get with the 07 Durango w/5.7L Hemi? I'm getting between 5-9/mpg City/highway mixed and strictly highway is 8-13/mpg. I've taken it back to the dealer 4 times now and they keep telling me that's normal! Anybody else experiencing this?

That is crazy! I would guess 12 for city and 15 or better for highway. You have MDS on yours, I don't think you should get ever below 12 mpg.

Yes it has the MDS, but according to there head engineer it doesn't matter because I need to be going a constant speed under 60mph! This buying experience has been a complete nightmare. In the first five days of having the truck I was back to the dealership 6 times. I even asked about their 3 day/100 mile no questions asked return policy but they denied having it.

I'm calling Chrysler tonight and inquiring about the Lemon Law (I'm in Floarida). My only problem is you need at least 3 repairs to qualify, but the first they flashed the computer and sent me on my way with no paper work. The two other times I've been in they've denied an issue but said they'd call there help desk and see if there are any tech bullitins or some other BS. I'm totally fustrated at this point.

That sounds like the way it should be MDS or not it should never be below 12 mpg unless you hammer it all the time!

I couldn't find any TSB's about fuel economy, but if it's a brand new truck, give if a few hundred miles for everything to loosen up. Brand new engines are tight and sometimes get lowsy fuel economy at first (this is especially true with diesels for the first few thousand miles).

Run another mileage check, don't rely soley upon the vehicles mpg read out, do it the old fashion way, miles driven divided by fuel used. I understand with MDSyou run on 4 cylinders, the mds kick into eight cylinders when you go over 2,000 RPM. Use your cruise control, I get 65-70 mph @ 1850 RPM and I get 17.5 to 18 MPG on an hours run on the interstate, using the cruise control. Lead footing from a signal light or stop sign will surely guzzle the gas.
