Black trim turning white.
I have a 2004 Durango Limited. The black trim on the top side of my rear bumber is turning black - so are the black parts of my running boards, but not as bad. I have tried everything on the planet to try and turn them black again without any success. I have consulted many auto detailers, none of them can do it. I am about ready to give up and maybe re-paint them black? Anyone having the same trouble? Anyone have a remedy? Thanks!
Paint won't work. You will need a vinyl dye. Your best bet is to let it go and replace the running boards. Sorry to say that you are S-O-L. Remember, if you do decide to paint, prep is everything. That plastic/vinyl has a film on it and the paint won't stick is less you do some UBER prep work.

I found a TSB for the running boards. Dealer will replace them but not sure if its only under warranty. I was able to save the rear bumper by applying some vinyl protectant (Black Magic, etc.) after each wash even if I didn't do the tires. The rear wiper seems to be another part to take care of too.
Do a search about the running boards. You may get them new under warranty.
Good luck!

Hi, new to DF but, I have a suggestion. Get some black leather dye. You can get it at most department stores. It is the stuff in the glass bottle made by Kiwi. It is thin like water and has a sponge attached to the cap. It will re-blacken the plastic but will be a matte finish. It looks kind of funny. So, also get some regular Kiwi black shoe polish and put it on after the dye (the polish itself also has dye in it so it might work by itself if they are not too white). Let it dry for a bit then buff a little with a clean cloth. This will shine them up nicely. Be carefull onthe running boards as it could be slippery when they are wet.
