Default Audio question

I have a '05 Durango which came with the Infinity stereo system.

What are the specs for that system? Speaker RMS/Freq. Response, Amp (if any) specs, and head unit specs? Thanks alot!

I like the rms strength of the speakers and I'm wondering what it was, I couldn't find specs on the stereo and speaker system and I wanted to know for other cars I'm upgrading the stereo system in. Basically I like the Inifinity system in the Durango and I want to match or slightly improve it, I just need to know it's specs to begin. Thanks

I think the total system is about 585watts and probably around 100rms. So I think about 120max and 25rms. Similar to basic Infinity speakers. The only difference is that aftermarket you get better cones then OEM.

Basically, to upgrade, you would need to bypass the stock amp. There is no easy way. You can try and upgrade your speakers with stock amp, but it will not do any justice. If you decide to do an overhaul remember don't let them talk you into a $120 wiring harness. It has to do with a head unit power issue. All you have to do is find a constant and an accy wire. I can go into more detail if you like, just let me know.

PS - you will have to cut factory ends to make it work or splice and tape.

The infinity system on my 04 was rated at 365 or 385 total watts iirc. I like the system alot but at high volume the bass was slightly distorted if you have it on the max bass setting from the head unit. Some dynamat behind the door cones and sub fixed that up nicely though. The bass is much "clearer" now.
