windshield wipers come on at ignition
2005 Durango SLT, 2wd, not hemi
I just bought this truck andwhen you crank it up, the windshield wipers come on and swipe one time. It does this EVERY single time you start the truck up and its really annoying!!I've checked the wiper switch and itsin the off position so I know the wipers haven't been left on. I'm hoping someone else has had this problem and knows how to fix it.

had a similar problem with the 06 durango took ages for the dealer to find out what was doing it now my durango is the limited with the hemi
this is what it did
you start it up wipers would come on and wipe once with the switch in the off position
the volume on the radio turned down on its own
took it in to the dealer and they re flashed the computer fixed the wiper problem (this is what you may need to get the dealer to do)
the radio was another matter took a new radio/cd unit /volume switch on the steering wheel still had the problem ended up having the whole console replaced to
get everything working like it was supposed to and 3,000 miles later no problem as yet
just take her in to the dealership and tell them what its doing they should re flash the computer and you will be good

I had a 02 Intrepid with the same problem. It ended up being a short in a speaker wire and cause the BCM to go wacky and kick the wipers on. That might not help, but it is what it is. Good luck.
