PAINT ISSUE!!!
i have two dodge durango's. a white 04 slt w/ hemi and an 05 limited w/ hemi andhad an04 ram w/ 4.7l v8 (i blew themotor after 20,000 miles on it)
the 04 white durango has started to 'speckle' rust on the front bumber, rear bumper, the whole tailgate and rear quarter pannels. i heard the term speckle rust from a buddy who re-did most of the body on my old 94 lifted 4runner that i trailor and use for offroad only. he said it is when the whole car starts rusting from the outside on the paint instead of rusting from the inside out which happens with most auto's.
basically when you would look at the car it would have a bunch of very small rust spots on the paint, itsonly reallynoticeable after getting it washed. you can scrub the parts where this rusting is occuring and it virtually goes away after a few min of work.
he did not give me any suggestions on fixing this problem...bc he has never heard of such a thing happening from a factory paint job.
HAS ANYBODY HAD THIS PROBLEM BEFORE OR HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM...my first instinct is ive always wanted to get a flat black paint job on this particually durango so i may just have to do this....or would getting it detailed and buffed out help???
and just as a minor detail...the car is washed one to two times a week!!!
ANY INPUT OR SUGGESTIONS WILL HELP IMMENSELY!!!!
THANKS

I live in Minnesota. Cars dont last very long because of the amounts of salt on the roads even the largeamount left on the roads in the summer after the snow is gone. That is why i wash my cars at least once a week.
I found out today that the car is not covered under the corrision warranty because it is a paint issue not a metal issue...from what i heard from a local dealership the only way to fix the prblm is to have the car sanded down and repainted at a good body shop. [:@]

White is the thinest paint color there is. Not unusual to find issues on white jobs first.
At this point, get it cleaned, prepped and repainted. Go heavy on the clear coat.
