My 6 CD changer recently shot craps and decided it may be a good time to put in the NAV system. I have a 2004 Limited with the premium sound package. The dealer wants $2700 which includes a new Bezel, mounting Bracket, REC NAV unit, GPS antenna and NAV DVD. I have found a few places on line that sell the REC NAV unit, Antenna and DVD for a little as $1700. The new Bezel and Bracket look to be around between $150 - $200. I'm hopeful I can install it all myself. I was looking at some modifications to allow for a backup camera and came across a unit for $1500 with the GPS antenna but no NAV DVD. It was modified by a company to allow for a second input and a back up camera. It sounds like a good price but I want to make sure I'm not getting a unit that won't work in my Durango or have to pay a fortune to have installed. There seems to several P/N for the unit itself. Is there any specific units to stay away from? Any insight would be appreciated to help me make a good purchase.

I bought mine used on eBay for 800$ or so plus the Bezel for 70-100$
Install is fairly simple, all plug and play, only PITA is the Nav Antenna under the dash.
If you have no NAV DVD the NAV does not work! Check that you get a OEM original NAV DVD and not a copy!

I figured the $2700 seemed high. I'm don't trust the dealer I have been currently using for service here in Gilbert.
Is there any way to purchase an OEM copy of the NAV DVD? The parts department at my local dealer said it was not possible. The unit I found for $1500 is the radio and the Antenna but no NAV DVD.

I got one of eBay....also my Nav unit but it came with a copy of the Nav DVD which worked OK but had reading errors every once in a while. You also can get the DVD at the dealer for 250$ I believe...make sure if you buy a DVD That it is the latest version, think it is AE now!
I'm sure you can get the unit below 1500$!

Try these search words on eBay "navigation radio dodge"
Seen 3 units all in the 800$ range
Bezel is around 120$ also under the same search.
New Nav unit is 2000$ + 120$ Bezel + Install makes 2500$ sound right at the dealer.
