Trouble Looming?
Here is the situation: I have an '04 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4 with the Hemi. I was on a long road trip and about halfway through, the engine malfunction light came on. There was no change in how it was running so I figured that it may be an O2 sensor. I kept driving with no issues, but a couple of hours later, the air conditioning stopped blowing. I could hear it turn on so I was pretty sure it wasn't a compressor/fan issue, but no air was coming out of the vents. I continued home with no air conditioning. I made a couple of stops and each time I started it back up, the engine malfunction light stayed on. I got up the next morning to take it to Auto Zone to get the computer read to see what caused the light to come on. When I started it up that morning, the engine malfunction light was not on and the air conditioning worked great.I have driven it around town the last couple of days and there have been no issues. Has anyone had similar issues and is there anything I should look for? Thanks in advance for any replies.
It might be the thermistor for the AC Fan, I had the same issue but it did not cause a CEL.
Did you drive with cruse control? That sometimes causes a CEL when you have it set for hours without speed changes.

Could also be the blower resistor for your fan. Do the key on key off dance, and see what code was stored in the computer.
Thats key on, off, on, off, on. Then look at your odometer display and see what Pcode comes up. If it says pdone, no code is stored.
Get back to us with the code, and we should be able to help from there.

Glad to hear things are being normal. I suspect though that this issue will rear its ugly head at the most inconvienient time for you. When you do the key dance, the sequence shold be done in less than five seconds IIRC.
Other have reported trouble dong the dance on their Gen 2 D's. My 01 workslike a charm every time. I can't fathom why the Gen 2 would not work the same!!
