Default power steering and water

Has anyone had the power steering go out for a few seconds after going throught a deep puddle or heavy rain? If so, do you know what would cause that to happen? I don't mean flood water but standing water about 5-7 inches deep.

Most likely water splashing up onto the serpentine belt. It only tales a few seconds for the water to dry off, and then your PS returns.

Most of the time there is no harm done, but once in a while the belt slips off.
