Default Exhaust and HP question......

I'm getting a 40series put on the D tomorrow, looking forward to it (mainly because its making the wife happy, but Im excited too). I know theres a 10hp difference b/t the hemi-D's and the hemi-rams, mainly due to the exhaust setup, correct? Im assuming this is why the D is the "quietest hemi ever made". Well, with the HUGE main muffler and the resonator/muffler at the tailpipe gone, will this make up for the 10hp loss, or is the restriction coming from elsewhere?

Im not totally concerned with any hp gain, as there is usually very very minimal with just a muffler add-on. I was just wondering where the hp was lost between the D and Ram.

HP difference between the D and Ram is in the weight.

40s are to loud IMHO. 50s are an excellent choice. You will pickup about 3-5 HP from the better flow. Not noticeable in the pedal, only the ear. Get rid of that junk resonator and run a pipe in the gap instead.

the restriction is were the y-pipe is. open up the y a little bit and you will see better gains. i have a flowmaster on my 05 dakota and hate it. to loud and rasphy sounding.
