'04 overheating

Default '04 overheating

I have an '04 with the 4.7 engine. Recently she has been running hot while at stop lights/drive thru's etc, but would cool down once you get moving again. It seems now that it doesn't cool down as much now when you get up and moving. The coolant level is full. What should I look at next? The fan runs all the time as it is a mechanical, not electrical fan. Should I replace the thermostat? I don't want to parts swap if something isn't broken....just looking for a little direction.

4.7s need burped to keep from overheating anytime fluid is added. They trap air and overheat even when they are full of coolant.

Put the undercarriage on your shoulder and gently tap the back hatch. I have two daughters and this always works for me,

There is a burp screw by the radiator cap.

This is my favorite way of taking care of the problem........LOL
