It's rather easy to get the headliner out! I just took mine down to install the VES. Easiest way to do it is:

Take the sunvisors loose ( 2 screws each and a push center pin for the holding clip )and disconnect the wire if they are lighted.

Take all the dome lights out and disconnect the wires. A small flat blade screw driver will pop the lens off and then it can be taken out.

Take the driver side A-post trim off. Pulling will get it loose

Pull back the weather seal in the door jam( only at the top near the liner).

Take both of the coat hooks down. 1 phillips screw each

Pull the weather seals back on the remaining doors( only at the top).

Take the trim off that is above the cargo area against the liner. Pulling will get it loose. Pull the weather seal back from the headliner area.

Take both rear D-post trims loose and let them hang by the seat belt (if you have 3 rows). 1 screw each

The air vent hooks up right above the pass side rear seat. A little finness will get it free...nothing fancy

Take the grab handle loose for the pass side front door...2 10mm bolts.

Now the headliner should be ready to come down. Don't take the large panels around the rear-most windows loose...just maneuver the headliner up over them on both sides. There is a wiring harness that is glued to the headliner, so make sure you disconnect it at the driver side A-post...should be a white multi-pin connector. The rear washer hose also runs with the harness so disconnect the rubber hose right there by the white connector at the same time.

Sounds like a lot but is rather easy...

Good luck!!

I'm having issues with the map light removal. I'm not sure how to pop the lens out without breaking them.
