Default sirius satellite questions

Two questions, any and all help is greatly apprecaited!

1. am trying to install an aftermarket adapter to plug my satellite radio/ipod in to via RCA cables. The adapter was easy to install, but part of the instructions state to unplug the already installed sirius tuner in order for this to work.

The problem is, i can't find the sirius tuner anywhere. any ideas where it is, and how do i unplug it.

2. Once i find the sirius tuner, can i tap in to a wire for the antenna so i can use the stock satellite antenna on the truck instead of installing a second one? if so, how do i do that, just use any type of wire jumper/connector?

Thanks!

Default never mind!

i learned from another source where the culprit was at. The sirius satellite radio tuner in a 2007 dodge durango is in the rear of the vehicle, on the inside of the roof.

to get to it you must open the rear tailgate, remove the top part of the weather stripping. once that is off you can peak inside the trim/roof panels and there you'll see it kind of to the right of the roof.

once you remove the outer most trim panel, it comes off with a panel tool quite easily, you do have to pop off one roof clip to remove part of the roof panel, then you can reach around to the front of the box and unplug it. it of course takes a little finagling because the plug points toward the front of the car, but after a couple minutes of scratching up my hands and arms i got it out. and all is working good with the new adapter.

as for the antenna, i did find some information on how to splice it to use the already in place roof antenna, but to run the antenna wire all the way to the back of the vehicle will be a pain, so i just ran it up and out the weatherstripping of one of the doors. it works fine. yea i now have two antennas on the roof, but you barely even notice them.

anyone ever have specific questions about the process, feel free to email me at cal10032000@yahoo.com
