Default Rear air doesn't blow hot or cold...

My rear air will not respond to cold or hot settings from either the rear control panel or the front control for the rear air. The front a/c and hear work fine, but the rear just blows air, not hot or cold, when set to the respective settings.

flapper door maybe?

The most likey cause is a broken blend door in the rear heater box. I had this same problem six months ago. The bleed door came complete with the heater box assy.

Default question

Did you have to replace the entire heaterbox ?
Wasn't there a s.b. on the blend doors a long time ago ???

How hard it is to remove the back inner panel to access the
assy ?

Tks

Yes - broken flapper door. I wound up buying a whole new rear hvac unit real cheap from someone parting out a really low mile wreck. Haven't put it in though.

I have a 2004 Durango with no rear heat. Both selenoid that actuate the door were not making contact. I bent back into position, but I have the broken blend door. Is there a way to fix this without draining the coolant/refrigerant and lifting the vehicle(according to manual)?

I was hoping a dremel and epoxy could get this working as opposed to the money the dealer would charge to fix a plasic door.
