Default Front control arm replacement procedure

Anyone have the procedure for replacing the front control arm/ball joints for a 2004 durango 4x4, 5.7L ?
Is alignment immediately necessary?

When you replace the BJs, yes you need to get it aligned within a day or so. No real distance driving should be done before hand.

Check out Hydrashockers thread about 4x4 alignment:

It is on a first generation Durango, but it still holds true,

There is another thread for the first generation Durango concerning ball joints:

Otherwise there is a 'search' field in the black menu bar at the top that may help you further,

It's a pretty simple job if you know how to break ball joints and tie rod ends loose. Just remember to jack it up by the frame, back off on the torsion bar adjuster, and back the torsion bar out of the lower A-frame, before you do anything. And mark where the adjuster was so you can tighten it back to where it was.
