Question Changing the factory in 06 durango

Hey everybody i wanna see if anybody has information on replacing the factory radio in my 2006 durango.Ive replaced it before with a 7" indash screen but had a huge problem, the durango would just shut off on the freeway out of no where. so i took it to the dealer and they said it was my raido causing the problem i couldnt replace the factory radio,so i took it back to the installer and had him put the factory one back in but he sold me a special wiring harness that would fix it,but it didnt work.Has anyone had or heard of this problem.....please!!!!! i need some help any informatin well me thanks.

I would go to another installer as they should be competent enough to do the job correctly the first time,

A short could be causing any number of failures and issues. Stereos nowadays are as tightly integrated into the wiring as say the air bag modules. A short is a short. +1.. have them fix it right.

I have an aftermarket Alpine stereo in my 2006 Durango and I have no problems at all. It was installed at a custom subwoofer shop that installs equipment properly compared to a knock off like BestBuy. Like Facist said I would just go to another installer. If you are going to spend good money to have a screen installed might as well spend the extra bucks to have it installed correctly.
