MP3 IPOD in D
I tried to find the original post that brought up this topic but could not so I just made a new one...
There are a ton a devices that I use on a regular basis that have audio options and I have MP3 capabilities on nearly everything I own except for my Durango. I was at costco and ran across this little device for just over 20 bucks. The good thing is that it has some pretty good features, features that I can not find on any of the ones that I have seen on any of the other similar products.
At any rate it is a tiny little auto adapter that will send whatever you want to send to a choosable signal on your radio. There will be variances depending on where you are but I think this thing works awesome. I am in Los Angeles so two of the frequencies that are available to broadcast on are already taken but there are like 8 to choose from. The sound quality is pretty darned good and you and use a dual headphone jack off of any device or even just plug in any USB memory stick or device and use the play options off of the little mini unit.
This is not the one that Costco is selling (the Costco one actually looks better with more features) but here is a similar one to get an idea of the basics. CAR ADAPTER
I have tried it with an MP3 Player and when working in the D as my mobile office I have also used it to run my notebook sound through the infiniti sound system and I am very impressed... Playing MP3's at a pretty high volume it comes across clear and I had absolutely zero interference driving well over 60 miles through out Southern California.
A cheap, quick and easy solution...

That sounds like a simple FM Modulator. I've used those with mixed success in the past. I hate hearing the FM interference on something that's already not CD quality.
A better solution may be any of the new decks coming out that have a front auxiliary input. You can then just hook up your MP3 player directly to your deck and play it as an "AUX" source.

I live in a pretty well saturated airwave area (Los Angeles area) and I have had no problems with interference at all, but I am sure it really depends on where you are and how busy those frequencies are. The thing that I really like about this one that I bought, in particular is that you can just plug in a memory stick or media card into the device and scroll through the songs via the little buttons on it....
At any rate I thought it would be a cheap, quick and easy fix for the original poster, which I can't find..
One added thing that was cool, at least for me was or is, I use my Durango for work a lot and it is kind of fun to hook up the laptop to this thing and play a game or two in stereo sound
