Me too - same thing. Hatch just won't open. If you try the manual external latch handle, it just beeps twice. If you try the key fob, it just quickly beeps twice.

Removed the access cover inside, everything appears like new. No dirt, corrosion, nothing.

I found what I believe to be the manual release mechanism, its a small lever down on the left side under the motor. Pushing down on it yields maybe 3/4" travel, but nothing. It's as if it's "locked" and won't unlock. Tried this lever in many combinations with or without using the outside latch, power plugged in or not. If you disconnect power and use the key fob, it beeps once as if it wants to open, but then stops as if there was an obstruction.

I need to know what to do next. I was tempted to apply power to the larger red and green wires to see if this actuates the motor - but thought better of it. There has to be a lock mechanism or solenoid that has it "locked" and won't "unlock".

Maybe a wiring diagram/schematic for this harness?

Maybe something is shorting the wiring. I know mine will stop and reverse if the slightest object touches it while it is motion. The sensors may be getting tripped,

Ok fine by all that - but how do I get the damned thing open?! Manually, or ?

 

I'm having a similar problem with my 2007 Durango. Any time I try using the button on the key chain or on the console, it just beeps fast twice and it doesn't open. It also won't open manually. So as of right now I don't have anyway of opening the liftgate. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

 

Hey guys, how about reading the forum posts. Start with this thread, Post #5. If that isn't it, start a new thread with your specific details.

"Same thing" doesn't cut it and with a known issue and TSB fix, that should always be checked first.
