Default 2005 5.7 Hemi Durango Limited

Hello
My name is Darrell Dubree. Thanks for the inf. on my 5.9 intake manifold replacement. I have installed a Hughes plenum plate with gaskets and bolts. Everything seems to be doing great. I replaced water pump and a leaky power stearing pump, and valve cover gaskets and all new hoses while I was in that deep.

I now have a question about my wifes 2005 Durango 5.7 Hemi Limited.
The water temp is not warming up for heater. I am thinking thermostat or clutch fan hung up, or elect. fan on all the time. I haven't checked yet, just wanted to know what was the most common cause out there.
I am also trying to figure out why it is overflowing gas when filling up. I have tried to top off slowly, but it makes no diff. it kind of belches the gas out when full. I thought it was the pump, but it happens all the time at diff. pumps. I thought it was operator error, until I tried and it gets me everytime.
Thanks for any wisdom out there.
Darrell

On my 06 Chrysler at first said no, then they offered 50% and finally they paid in full for a whole new tank assembly. All is well with it now in regards to the tank spewing gas.

For the coolant not warming up, I'd check the thermostat. It's not overheating so that rules out the waterpump automatically, and thus it means the coolant is circulating to fast, not getting a chance to actually warm up. Drop a new stat in and you'll find it warming up and getting better gas mileage. Talk about a win/win situation.

When you talk to Chrysler, make sure you push it and push it and push it. I highly recommend my position of making a video. It gets them to listen quickly, very quickly. Keep in mind, you want to be nice and compliment the truck in all the ways you can as you lead up to what the problem is.

Thank you for your reply. I have replaced therm. and is doing great.
As for the gas tank problem I have not talked with Chrysler yet. I am going to try what you suggested. It always pays to be tactful when talking with other people. The person on the other end did not cause the problem. And we must remember mechanical things will fail, not if but when. Hopefully the company will be resposible and take care of the problem. It could be worse, we could own a Toyota! Ha! Ha!
Thanks again.
