Default Rough, stalling idle...

'06, w/80k. 4.7
Truck will run normal under throttle but coming to a stop it will stall out sometimes. I did replace spark plugs, air filter, and begin using 93 oct. gas. Still does it, not as much though. Appears to stall more when its cold out.

Does this truck have a in-line gas filter, or in-tank filter?
Throttle body is clean.
Could it possibly IAC ? idle air control?

Thanks again

Try the throttle position sensor on the throttle body,

Clean the throttle body and use a better brand of gas. Shell, texaco,or cheveron.

My wifes durango did the same thing only she has a hemi. I still suspect the throttle body needs more attention. I put two bottles of tecron in the tank and ran it to the end after I used CRC (from wally world) throttle body cleaner and spray the hell out of the TB and the back side of the plate. I put a rag in there to soak of most of the run off. After I took the rag out I sprayed down the TB and let sit a minute and then started and ran down the road until it was smooth and don't be afraid to gun it. Thats how I cured mine. I told my wife to stop using the crappy hess gas in it. If a car runs better using 93 when the manual doesn't call for it there is some carbon build up on the valves. I also started using the lucas fuel treatment in all my vehicles.

Another vote for sea foam.

I've been battling rough idle, start and then dies, no starts.

Changed plugs, cleaned k&n air filter, cleaned throttle body, cleaned battery terminals, new battery. Threw in a can of sea foam. We'll see how she does.

My 2004 Limited w/5.7 Hemi had a similar problem that turned out to be the EGR valve. Haven't had a problem since I replaced it.
