Default offset rear axle??

I recently put new wheels on my 2007 durango and noticed the rear left tire rubs on the inside of the wheel well but the rear right tires doesn't. When I started looking at it I noticed the rear axle is offset but a full cm to the right. Have no idea why and I never heard of anything like this. Has anybody else noticed that? I'm gonna have to pay attention to every durango I see now.

If the axle is not true, get it fixed/repaired/loosened and moved to the right spot. If not, the drive train is biding at an angle too. Not designed to be off so fix it.

Wonder if that was done at the factory or if it was bumped over. Does it appear to have marks where it was or scratches from sliding?

Thats the thing, no marks, no scratches. I bought it new. Even had it aligned when I put the new tires on it and they gave me a print out of the alignment and showed me everything was in spec. But the rear axle sits noticeably further to the right when looking at it from the rear. Maybe its me now that I know its offset. I want to go over to the dealership and measure some on the lot to see where they sit.
