Default Interior Lights - HELP!!!

My interior lights in my 04 Durango will not cut off when the doors are closed and the vehicle is off. What can the cause be and how do I correct the problem?

Any advice? Thank you !

Cathey,

Get that truck out of your garage and away from your house if the interior lights will not go off on it. There is a recall on the Durangos for this, it's a warning that the dashboard is about to catch fire.

You need to disconnect the battery from the truck (positive and negative terminals) and have it towed to the dealership for them to change out a circuit in the dashboard.

Do NOT attempt to drive this anywhere and do NOT park it in your garage.

Thanks so much for your advice. Took the Durango to the local Dodge dealer and it was the recall ! So grateful I found out before it was a real problem!

We're thrilled to hear that you were able to get it in and fixed before anyone got hurt.
