Default 2005 Headlight bulb replacement

Do I need to remove the light assembly or do you access it from under the car?

Thanks

Not sure about the 2005, but on my 2007 you need to access the back of the headlight through a door in the front wheel wells (in front of the front tires). I think it can be done without removing, but it is near impossible form an earlier thread. Here is one thread:

I attemped to replace my stock headlights with a set of HID today. The owners manual for my 05 Durango is very vauge about removing the headlight. BE VERY carful when removing. It says nothing about the top clip that you will need to open as well as the others mentioned in the manual. You can access it by the fender door and a long nose pliers. You will have to squeze and twist it to get your headlight out without breaking it. Took me an hour to remove it and still cracked a small piece on the headlight. Not too happy with the manual....it should have been much clearer. Oh you will need a 10MM socket with a long 6 inch very thin extension to get at the front bolts. Good luck.

I believe you have to access the panel from the front wheel wells like what FF stated. And be careful when you replace yours I had the same issue Shlakester did and I ended up snapping one of the the top clips.
